How to Downgrade Your iPhone Firmware Using TinyUmbrella Mac

These are instructions on how to downgrade your iPhone firmware using TinyUmbrella. In order to follow this tutorial you must already have saved your SHSH Blobs for the firmware you want to restore to.


You can use this tutorial to downgrade to iOS 4.3.3 in order to jailbreak using JailbreakMe. The Windows version of this tutorial is here.

Step One
Download and install TinyUmbrella from here if you havent already.

Step Two
Download the firmware you want to restore to from here and save it in a Pwnage folder on your desktop. Remember you must have saved your SHSH Blobs for this firmware already.

Step Three
Launch TinyUmbrella from your Applications folder.

Step Four
Connect your device and make sure it lists saved SHSH Blobs for the firmware you are restoring to. If you dont see any blobs you may need click the Save SHSH button to load them from Cydia.

Step Five
Click the Start TSS Server button.

*Do not continue if TinyUmbrellas TSS server is not started successfully.

Step Six
Launch iTunes by clicking its icon in the dock.

Step Seven
Place your iPhone into DFU mode by holding down the Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds then release the Power button and continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds.

Step Seven
Select your iPhone from the list of devices on the left, hold down the Option key and click Restore.

Step Eight
Navigate to the Pwnage folder on your desktop, select the ipsw file you downloaded and click the Open button.

Step Nine
iTunes will now restore to the lower firmware version.

Step Ten
If you happen to get an Error 1 or you get stuck in recovery mode, you will need to use FixRecovery to get your device out of recovery mode.

Download FixRecovery from here and save it to the Pwnage folder on your desktop. Double click to extract the archive.

Step Eleven
Place your iPhone into DFU mode by holding down the Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds then release the Power button and continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds.

Step Twelve
Double click to launch the fixrecovery43 executable from the fixrecovery-osx folder we just extracted.

Step Thirteen
FixRecovery will perform its magic after which your device will be successfully rebooted.

IMPORTANT:
● If fixrecovery does not work the first time you may need to rerestore to your desired firmware version and try again. Remember to keep the TSS Server running during your second restore as well.

● This tutorial does work to get your from iOS 5 beta back down to iOS 4. Although some have reported less issues with a lower version of iTunes this tutorial was tested to work with iTunes 10.5b77.

You may have to perform the following steps in order to jailbreak your device successfully.

1. Download Ac1dSn0w from Here and Mirror (b2)


2. After downloading, open it and you’ll see the following screen:

Note:
You can click ‘Show Console’ to see some device related information. It also shows you the current state of your jailbreaking process. The Assistant Panel helps you to put your device into DFU Mode.

3. Connect your device with your Mac.

4. Turn your device off.

5. Click ‘Show Assistant’ and follow the onscreen instructions to enter DFU Mode.

6 . Once you’re in DFU Mode just hit the ‘Jailbreak’ Button and wait until it’s done (the device will reboot).

7. Put your device again into DFU Mode (Step 5) and hit the ‘Tethered Boot’ Button.


8. Please wait a moment or 2 for the a white Cydia icon to appear.

9. Click on the white icon and wait for Cydia to initialise and close.


Done: Reopen Cydia Your device should now be jailbroken with Cydia installed.
[REMARK]
Please note that you need to boot tethered in order to see the Cydia icon. Also note that Ac1dSn0w won’t show a boot logo in Beta2.

How to Jailbreak iOS 4 3 2 Redsn0w 0 9 6rc14 iPhone iPod Touch iPad Windows Mac

Dev team has just released new version of Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 to bring untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G and iPad. iOS 4.3.2 untethered jailbreak is based on i0n1cs untethered exploit.


Heres step by step guide showing you how to jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 untethered using Redsn0w 0.9.6 for Windows

Step 1: Download iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch (download links at the end).

Step 2: Restore to iOS 4.3.2 in case you havent yet using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.2.2.

Step 3: Start Redsn0w and point it to the official iOS 4.3.2 firmware file.






Step 4: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”. Optionally (if available), you can also select any other option you like.



Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.




At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will be guided on how to enter DFU mode. Quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.




Step 6: Wait until you get untethered iOS 4.3.2 jailbroken in few minutes.
